At Premier Bone and Wellness we want to work with you on your wellness journey. Your first visit consists of a medical office visit, health history, and laboratory work if needed with Shannon our APRN. After this visit, you will have a follow up to develop a plan of care that is individualized to you. You will meet with both Shannon and Lieschen during your second visit.

About Shannon

Shannon Laesch is an Advanced Practice Nurse and is board certified as an Adult Health Clinical Nurse Specialist. She has a passion for treating bone health and helping patients achieve optimal wellness. As someone who has struggled with their weight, hormone levels and energy levels for many years, she understands the important role these factors play in just “feeling good”.

Shannon completed the Fracture Liasion Service Course (FLS) through the National Osteoporosis Foundation and has been treating bone health for many years. She is a member of multiple Bone ECHO groups that meet online to discuss osteoporosis treatment and metabolic bone disease. Shannon has taught nursing clinical at Illinois State University for over 10 years. She has years of experience seeing patients in both the inpatient and outpatient settings with acute and chronic diseases and illnesses. Shannon is a member of the National Osteoporosis Foundation, National Association of Clinical Nurses Specialists, International Association of Forensic Nursing and the Illinois Society for Advanced Practice Nursing. 

In her spare time, Shannon enjoys sporting events and activities her kids participate in, traveling, swimming, gardening, camping and working in her yard.


About Lieschen

Lieschen Wienke is a mentor for people who want to take their health and fitness to the next level! Through her years of expertise as a professional golfer and personal trainer, she is ready to inspire and guide you to a healthier, stronger, more fit you! Her combination of health and fitness training, as well as the use of the best nutritional superfoods, will assist you NOW!

Lieschen’s mental toughness comes from playing on the LPGA Futures Tour for 6 years while earning exemptions into the Women’s US Open, The LPGA Championship, and many other professional tournaments. Her patience comes from 20 years of teaching the game of golf to countless adoring clients who claim, “You make it so simple to understand”! And 10 years of personal fitness training have taught her how to get results for her clients of all levels.

And when she’s not assisting others with solutions to get healthy, you can find her indulging in the outdoors; golfing, biking, scuba diving, or just her toes in the sand with a good book!

Bone Health

Osteoporosis is a disease characterized by low bone mass and deterioration of bone structure that increases the risk of fractures. It happens when you lose too much bone, make too little bone or both. As a result, your bones become weak and may break from a minor fall. One in two women and one in four men will have a fracture due to osteoporosis.

Fracture Risks

Keep an eye out for these common fracture risks:

  • Previous fragility fracture
  • Recent falls
  • Unsteady walking
  • Balance issues
  • Post-Menopause
  • Female over age 65
  • Male over age 70
  • Low hormone levels
  • Glucocorticoid use
  • Family history of osteoporosis
  • Excessive alcohol use
  • Inactive lifestyle
  • Diseases such as intestinal problems
  • Kidney problems
  • Liver disease

Bone Strengthening

  1. Maintain a Balanced Diet: Eat foods rich in Calcium and Vitamin D
  2. Exercise Regularly: Participate in 30 minutes of weight-bearing exercise, walking or jogging 3 to 4 times a week
  3. Live a Healthy Lifestyle: Avoid smoking and don’t consume more than 2 alcoholic drinks per day
  4. Prevent Falls: Use clear walkways and handrails and wear comfortable shoes with rubber soles
