Scott B. O’Connor, DPM, FACFAS
Dr. Scott B. O’Connor is a highly respected, board-certified foot and ankle surgeon with more than 29 years of clinical and surgical experience. He is the founder and medical director of Premier Podiatry, serving patients at offices in Bloomington and Pontiac, Illinois. Dr. O’Connor is widely known for his expertise in treating complex foot and ankle conditions with a focus on restoring function, relieving pain, and improving quality of life.
Dr. O’Connor earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine, formerly the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine, completing his medical education in 1996. He went on to complete his residency training at Westview Hospital in 1998, followed by advanced fellowship training at the Foot and Ankle Surgery Center in Indianapolis. This extensive training laid the foundation for his specialization in reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery, diabetic limb preservation, and sports-related injuries.
Board-certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery, Dr. O’Connor holds certifications in both foot surgery and reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery. He achieved board certification in foot surgery in 2000 and in reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery in 2003. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, reflecting his commitment to excellence and continued professional development.
In addition to his surgical practice, Dr. O’Connor owns and operates the Bloomington location of Neurogenx, providing advanced non-invasive treatment for peripheral neuropathy and nerve-related disorders. He has served as a residency training instructor and has participated on multiple medical and outpatient surgery center boards. His hospital affiliations include Advocate Eureka Hospital, Bromenn Healthcare, OSF Saint James Hospital, and OSF Saint Joseph Medical Center.
